This actually sounds to me like you have a bad brake light switch. Since you have to use the brake to start it inside, but are able to remotely start it, when you don't have to use the brake pedal to make it start. Check the brake lights. If they aren't working it's a good indication but if the lights work, it doesn't always mean the switch is

Hi. I have a 08 Infiniti G35 with a push button start that powers up but will not crank and also will not come out of gear when pushing the brake. The brake lights do however illuminate while depressing the brake pedal. It has 2 brake switches one is a 2 wire switch and the other is a 4 wire switch.
